Megapost - living room and bedroom updates!

Country Edition

Hello friends! This is a MEGAPOST AKA photo dump where I am just going to dump a bunch of things that we did. I hate to admit that all of these things we did last year and I have been too lazy to post due to…life. So trying to catch up by putting a bunch of them in one post. There will be many Thambi sightings amongst these pics, with various stages of fluff, showing the random passage of time.

First off, installing a lovely new light fixture in the master bedroom. Mike used a new tool which you can plug into a lightbulb adapter and then use another tool to test which switch it is in the electrical panel, by hovering over it until it beeps. It’s a pretty nifty device and has been very handy as we have had to turn of the electricity in various parts of the house for various installations:

And just like that, we have a new light fixture:

It makes the whole bedroom look a bit more complete! I think that Thambi enjoys it:

The Tree Room!

We finished furnishing our 2nd guest room with two twin beds. I like these forest green comforters! Also, Thambi approved. Sometimes when we can’t find him in the house, we will catch him sleeping on one of these beds when he wants to escape to a cool quiet corner of the house.

Nearly done…

And now done!

Living Room!

Our living room is liveable. We splurged a little bit on the rug, the chairs, and the sofas since this was a main living space.

Funny story about that random black chair in the background. An extra dining chair randomly showed up from Mitchell Gold. I called them multiple times telling them they sent us an extra chair. They looked into it and said that there was simply no way they sent us an extra chair. Eventually, I gave up, feeling a bit bad that we essentially got this chair for free. A few months later, they went out of business! I wonder if it is because of their bad inventory records? Anyway, it’s a lovely chair. I am not complaining.

These cream chairs recline and spin so one can watch tv, the fireplace, converse with folks sitting on the couch, or importantly watch the sunset.

Thambi taking a nap on the rug:

Note the random gray brick on the fireplace. I originally had planned to pay the fireplace a dark gray. But overtime, I have come to love the natural color of the brick. It is so warm. At some point, I have to figure out how to remove the paint from this one brick…

There are definitely more updates that we have to make into the living room. But we paused on any more changes for now to focus attention on things like the kitchen, the apartment, finishing flooring etc. May be ten years before everything is done. Til next time!
